Don’t miss Jon Stewart on CNN

Daily Show with Jon Stewart Yes I know we in India don’t have comedy central to watch the funny Jon Stewart news show called Daily Show with Jon Stewart. But if you are lucky enough you can catch his show everyweek on CNN in India. Here is why I said lucky because if CNN doesn’t have some live event at that time. Last two shows were cut because there were live events.

I like this guys so much that I hated when live events were there and I wished for world peace for a few hours atleast so that i can watch this show without a live event interrupting it.

I  enjoyed it so much that i even sent resumes to Indian news channels saying that i will do that kind of show for them if they hire me. I think my funny bone was over reacting.

So here are the timings don’t miss them on Saturdays at 9:00 PM and on Sundays at 8:30 PM. They also keep changing the time slots so check the paper just in case and no matter what just see the show once and i know you will be hooked.

Here’s why Sony PS3 will get free online gaming

The Sony ps3 when it comes out if ever it comes out, rumors are that it will offer free online playing capability, just like xbox live which is a paid service. The reason why they are doing this according to me calculations is because of the Folding@Home project, which if you don’t know is a project similar to seti’s distributed computing. Where your computers idle time will be used to do the number crunching for DNA sequences to make new medicine or just run similations, anywhere big super computers are needed. This is a smart way to use gaming consoles which are as powerful or more powerful than computers, to do distributed computing. Imagine if sony playstation 2 had this capability. More than 100 Million PS2′s have been Sold. Now add all the CPU power of the CPU together, just half of them, 50 million will get you more the fastest super computer ever built. So are they planning to do a PS3 super computer. They could sell this to customers of super computers and make even more money. You in return will get free online play. If you ask me that is very nice way to solve a big problem of subscriptions. I could be totally wrong. but if they are smart they could use this to their advantage.

Kamal Hassan is doing 10 roles in a single movie

He is one of the most versatile actors in India. Now he is taking an even bigger challenge. He is going to do 10 roles himself in his new film called Dasavatharam. Hope him doing the 10 roles is not all the film has got. Remember the film in 24 hours that was done recently in Tamil. It was a disaster. when people do such films the focus on those things rather than the story. So wishing him good luck and hoping it will be a good film. read more here

You think your mobile is too big think again.

These guys in El Salvador carry not one but three to four mobiles at a time. guess where they carry them yes their ass. Why because they can get them into the maximum security prisons. You ask how did they find them there police their are smarter so when they got suspicious of the prisoners they xrayed them. Man we complain too much about carrying gadgets look at them putting three to four mobile with chargers up there with no problem. Just curious which phones they are using.

The Hindu newspaper goes digital from today

you can access it from here but you need to register first but its pretty easy epaper.thehindu.com. When you register they ask you how you want to get the stories. in text or PDF or images. I choose images. when I login i get the exact paper replica of the newspaper and on the left you can see small red rectangles which have numbers on them, they are the individual papers when you click on the number you will be taken to that particular paper. And they even have a paper like animation that looks like you are flipping paper when you click on the new page.

when i move my mouse over a link little detail about the story pops up.  When i click on a story a new window pops up with the whole story which is quite readable but since I choose images i get an image. you can choose text or other forms.

This work on the images too. When i click on images they too pop up in a new window a little bigger.

I think all this is a good idea. They have a 3 month option when you register, i am guessing after that they will make pay per view. The paper will be put online at 6:00 am everyday. It’s an interesting idea, we will have to wait and see how it goes. You can still get the badly done Hindu at www.thehindu.com
