I have a chinese 8GB MP4 Player. For the last two months it was working fine. Now this player is not detected by the computer. When I connect it, it screen was on showing Computer, battery etc., but not detected by computer. While previously it will be detected by computer.Secondly If I format this player, does I need to install firmware again.Could you please help me.Many Thanks.Reply from PrasanthFormatting the player will not erase firmware. So you can try and format the player and see if that helps.Try different usb cable if you have any, most of the time this could be the problem. If these two things don't work i guess there is not much you can do with your player.prasanth

hi prasanth. i have a chinese mp4 player firmware is 9.1.52 . it is not turn on .show blue screen with sand clock sign. and not detect in my computer. please help me....Reply From PrasanthThat could mean your player is dead there are two way you can try to fix it.One is re-flashing the firmware which is risky if you don't know what you are doing. You can also take it to where you bought it they could re-flash the firmware. These players only work for so long and that is the reason they are sold so cheaply.Thank you for taking time to comment

Well I have baked up my firmware but my Pc would not detect it as removable drive. how can i install my old firmwareThanksReply from prasanthSorry for the later reply, my internet was down. As long as your firmware updater program detects the player thats fine. Just see if the program detects your player and update the firmware. I don't have my player with me as its dead now. So i can't tell you any other ways to try it.Sorry could help you much.thank you

Hi,i had a similar looking Mp4 Player i upgraded the firmware. Now it is dead any help PLsReply from PrasanthI hope you backed up the firmware as i mentioned in the blog post. If not there is not much i can help you with, because my player has died long time back.Try and install the firmware again, Some times its just needs one or two tries. Mine too blacked out like that and after another try it worked. This can also happen if you used the wrong firmware. Hope you have a back up.Thank you
