now i have the E symbol . but when i try the safari it gives EDGE connection not activated . but i have already activated airtel online which costs 5rs/day . i even got a message stating that airtel online has been activated. is there a seperate EDGE plan in airtel . thank u for the last reply.Reply from PrasanthI heard that airtel has two plans one is wap which is just mobile site another is gprs which is the real gprs. Find out if both are activated.Also try and restart the iphone only then does the settings take effect in some cases so try that before you do anything. hi buddy,u r doing a good job . i have a question hope u will help me out . i am form canda and will be coming to india for a month or two i will be in madhya pradeesh i have and unlocked iphone as u might know canda sucks for its mobile services.so can u tell me which cell phone service provider i should use in MP so i can avtivate EDGE settigns easily on prepaid .thanks in advancecheerspaddyReply from PrasanthSince you will be india for only two months post paid option is out of the question.So only prepaid.Bsnl and airtel seem to work fine.but the rates for gprs usuage are really high for the pre paid customers.For example onbsnl you will pay 20 Rs for every 1 mb you download.i am not sure how airtel charges for prepaid customers. So expect to paybig and stick to the above mentioned carriers and gprs should work fine.i don’t think there is unlimited data plan for prepaid customers from boththe carriers.settings for both the carriers are available in the comments section get it fromthere when you choose the carrier.thank youprasanthhttp://www.prasanthtechblog.com

not able to install applications on iphonetried with pc suite…it works on notes photos etcbut not with finderReply from PrasanthYou can install apps through finderFirst you have to unzip the app on to your computer. It will have .app folder which youhave to put into the application folder.Some apps don’t work because they need some other folders to be put on the iphone.But most of the games and other stuff will work. Like all the procedures some apps willnot work it could either be because of your firmware or the incompatabilut of the app.In iphone pc suite you can directly install apps by clicking on apps and downloading them from the internet from a special website and install them. That is how i am getting most of my apps now. They have even cracked the iphone apps so that you can use them without paying which is really cool. Because most of the apps i just try for fun. using airtel GPRS activatedI cant work out how to get to the edge settings?E symbol in the top leftbut the screen disappear once you have entered APNdont know wht to do..plz help(in details)thanks in advanceReply from PrasanthSince you say the screen disappers when you enter apn may be there isa bug or some error.If the apn is not saved it will not work. So try and get that fixed by restoring thefirmware. Do it only if you know how to do it and unlock it again afterwards.Once you put the apn and come back it should be saved so next time if you clickthe same setting it should show your saved settings if its not showing it then pleasedo the firmware thing i talked about.If you don’t know how to do it please take it to someone who knows about it.i can’t help much in this regard because its needs quite a complicated steps to do it.thank youprasanthhttp://www.prasanthtechblog.com
