India gets iphone app’s store, iphone 3g is coming

I was really intrigued how apple would launch the iphone in India and how it would be integrated into itunes store because there was no itunes store in India before. I was curious to know if India would also get a itunes music and movie store etc. But they seem to have taken the easy way out and just given only the app’s store to India.

That’s fine because they could always launch music and movie store later. They could have also added podcast’s. Because they didn’t now I have to go to USA store to get the podcast and switch back to Indian store for iphone app’s. The prices are still shown in $ which I think will be changed when they launch iphone 3G official in India.

But I really would like to know how many people will be willing to pay around 400 Rs for a game for iphone, when they could get all the games and app’s for free with iphone 1.1.4 firmware.

Iphone 3G is expected to be released in august in India going by the latest rumor. So let see how much they charge and what they do about movies and music stores.

hi,i need a small help from you..i am also using a iphone in chennai. Is there any way to access rediffmail through iphone mail client. I know it cant be done without pop access(which is a paid service). Is there any work around..?thanks in advance, sureshReply from PrasanthSorry to say that there is no way around it.I just went and tried the mobile version even that does not work on iphone.you have to login in the normal way and use it.If you are planning to change your email address go with yahoo because they allows popaccess for free and also provide push email like blackberry for free on iphone.thank youprasanthhttp://www.prasanthtechblog.com

That is the only thing i can think of.thank youprasanthhttp://www.prasanthtechblog.com

thanks prashanth..by the way..i updated my iphone to 2.0 version using pwnage tool and it works great.Reply from PrasanthI am also in the process of upgrading to 2.0 but the firmware is taking so long to download from the torrent site. In a day or two i will also be on the 2.0 firmware. Can you get apps from the itunes store to work on your iphone 2.0.I really don’t advice anyone to upgrade because it involves so many steps.thank youprasanthhttp://www.prasanthtechblog.com

a small tip to amarnath….after you recharge , try to delete the cookies and other temporary files in safari settings.

yes..i tried some free apps. only app i purchased is monkey ball which is very cool. Other free apps are totally useless, if you compare it with installer apps, still 2.0 doesnt have installer but it has cydia, which is more resources for developers.

  6. suresh says:

i prefer upgrading, becoz1. nulriver is working on updated installer for 2.0 firmware.2. so, all the developers will start porting their app to 2.0( will take some time, I am eager to see summerboard, intelliscreen and iphysics on 2.0).3. appstore free apps are pretty much stable when compared to installer apps.getting the best of both app store and installer.
