is there any cheap internet connection which can give speed till 50 kbps less than 400 rupees

    • prasanth says:

The only option i found was idea data card

it costs 399 Rs for post paid and 400 Rs for 5 GB for pre paid.

You can also get a open data cards from micromax or other manufactures.

Use any 2G sim and you can get data for 100 Rs but that is a bit slow.

Also look into 3G data plans they are becoming cheap. Get a open data card so that you can change the sim when you want to new provider and plan.

Can u tell me a mp3 player with storage of more than 2 gb under rs . 2000

    • prasanth says:

There are quite a few mp3 player you can buy for 2000 Rs.

Flipkart has quite a few mp3 players.

You can choose from players with screen and without screen.

Many of them have a sd card memory slot which can be used to add more storage.

If you go with chinese players you can get even more features. But its better to go with branded players from philips, archos.

Can you make a video indepth review of Spice Stellar Horizon?

    • prasanth says:

I don’t get review units anymore but

Spice Stellar Horizon looks interesting, for 11000 Rs you get a phone as big as galaxy note with ics.

This phone will be launched by the end of this month. So we will have to wait and see…

I am interested in BSNL’s VDSL plans and was searching for information when I stumbled on to your review. I live almost exactly 1km away from the exchange (by road, not line-of-sight), but I can’t be sure if the line to the exchange follows the most optimal path.

Could you do me a favour and let me know the attenuation you get on your line? It would give me a point of reference for what I can expect.

    Thanks in advance.

    • prasanth says:

I don’t think that would help because each exchange and area is different.

In my exchange i was the first person to get this connection, even now i don’t think there are more than 10 people with
this connections. So my figures will not help you.

Best way to get more info is to go to the bsnl office and talk to the tech guy. Remember to talk to the guy in charge of the servers.

Its easy ask some technical questions at the counter and they will send you to the tech guy, thats what i did.

The tech guys are pretty helpful, they will tell you how many such connection are currently working and how is the through put etc.

Its not a special cable its just the regular telephone line, so if you ask nicely they will come and check vdsl connection at your home.

Vdsl is not fast because of special cable, its fast because you get a special port on the server which has higher speed output and that is the reason for the speed. You are not competing with other users for speed…

You do need a VDSL modem which is different from regular dsl modems and only available with BSNL.

      • Anant says:

Thanks for the info, but attenuation is directly comparable. It is mostly line loop length (though also effected by cable quality, joints, even exchange equipment etc.). However, even with those differences, attenuation can be used to gauge the maximum theoretical bandwidth. Since you were getting over 16 Mbps in one of your speedtest results, I wanted to know what yours was, so I could get at least some idea on what to expect.

My line (actually signal) attenuation is 20.5 dB.

        • prasanth says:

i knew where to look attenuation stats on adsl router page.

But its different on vdsl can’t find attenuation stats anywhere these are the stats i found for vdsl see if they help
