how to increase gprs speed in pc

    • Prasanth says:

Since its a slow connection and not really meant to be used with PC’s you can’t improve it much.

All you can do is disable images and flash to increase speeds. Also remember to remove auto updates if you are using chrome or firefox browsers.

Also try using opera browser, which can cache stuff and increase your browsing speeds.

Also look into 3G now there are many cheap plans available.

For example you can get 3G plans on a Aircel sim for 128 Rs 500 MB with 30 days validity.

Look into other provider and see if they offer cheap 3G plans in your area.

Gprs is too slow to be used on pc its better to use it in mobiles.

Hi Prasanth, just purchased a 3G BSNL datacard.. but cannot install on OS mountain Lion.. crying now because I have to go to Bootcamp and use it in Windows and why would anyone want to leave the Mac OS to go on line!! certainly not me.. it is such a nuisance. Do you have any idea how I can connect to my datacard BSNL with my Mac please. also you said earlier in a post that BSNL were offering unlimited datacards.. our office in Lonavala does not have that available. Do you know if they have taken that offer back? Thanks for any help.

    hii!
well, ive been on a spree to get a data card connection for my mac book pro. looked through the MTS plans, they were quiet good. except for that they told me they dont support mac. and the same with tata photon.. they asked me to get an idea connection, which works good for mac. or do i install windows on my mac to get an mts or tata photon ?it is really confusing. what is best you suggest? it is an os x version 10.8.1. has a storage of 250 gb and memory of 4 gb.
    please help!!

    • Prasanth says:

I have installed and used bsnl & tata photon on Mountain Lion with latest update 10.8.2 and it works fine.

With bsnl copy the installation file on to mac before installing.

I have used MTS with mac but not with mountain lion, so don’t know the current situation.

Also reliance data cards work with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, don’t know the current situation.

I have 10.8.2 but unable to connect with tata photon+ please help me with drivers and steps to follow.

        Thanks.

        • Prasanth says:

There is no special process just install the tataphoton app from the data card and it should work.

If you have installed software from other data cards like reliance, bsnl 3G, mts etc remove that first. So that there is no conflict with it.

i too have a Air and bsnl 3g data card works on it. I even tested it few days back with all the latest update mac ver 10.8.2

Here are some of my suggestions.

Go here and download BSNL mac driver for BSNL 3G data card which i uploaded to google drive http://goo.gl/p7c6r On Google drive Click on the file menu and select download to download the entire zip file.

Once downloaded try and install from it and see if that helps.

Also when my BSNL data card doesn’t work well. Just a restart sometimes fixed things.

Try and uninstall use uninstaller like appcleaner to remove any other data card software from Reliance, Tataphoton, MTS or others. Which might be interfering with BSNL data card.

Uninstall the software and restart then install software and see if that helps.

All those tips have worked for me one time or the other. Hopefully they too will work for you.
