(I used to do videos with Canon 550D, but much easier setup now.)

MKBHD does 4K Video
Prasanth K I do 720p video (because of bandwidth issues uploading)

MKBHD video file size was 8GB in size (his highest i think)
Prasanth K is 750 MB (my highest nearly 20 minutes in length at 720 p)

MKBHD has Wifi from Optimum – 135 down, 35 up pays less than $100/mo.
Prasanth K has broadband from BSNL – 2 down, 512 kbps up pays $20/mo.

MKBHD pays his bills and some out of youtube (he buys all his gadgets)
Prasanth K I barely cover my costs, just about make it every month (I buy all my products too, which are quite cheap. I only received about 10 products in 1200 videos, i have a playlist of all of them)

I think he does it because he loves doing videos, same here its just a fun hobby for me.

All this to give you an idea of how the top of the youtube and the bottom of the youtube looks.

Hopefully you are not at the “bottom” of YouTube for long! Love your videos, thanks for making them.

I wrote this as a guide for anyone who wants to start youtube. I just wanted to show what the variation was from top to bottom.

I am more than happy with the views i get. In fact i wanted to make a video when i crossed 3000 subscribers to thank everyone and also ask them not to share any of the videos from now on.

I thought it might sound arrogant thats why i didn’t make it. I didn’t want it to get any bigger, now its a small community with people who really like my videos, the bigger i get the haters follow.

For me this is just a hobby so its fun. Similar to this blog which is fun may be helps a few people.

But thank you for the nice sentiment.

    prasanth,

please do not confuse popularity with capability. i know you are very smart and know this. one man is good at selling a thing, the other man is good at understanding the fundamental truth of the thing he is reviewing.

I just wanted to tell about what the top youtuber and a smaller youtuber like me uses and makes etc.

I would have included financials too, but MKBHD in his reddit AMA didn’t disclose any details. So i didn’t want to put that in.

This is just information for any new youtuber that wants to know what to use and how much bandwidth is needed and can we make it profitable etc.

I thought he might RT this and give me few more viewers, i tweeted at him 3 times he didn’t RT. So it was a failed PR stunt too 🙂
