The headphones are basic ones that you find with these types of players. You also get a audio jack, mini usb cable and a manual. A small rope band to tether the player

Its quite weightless compared to its size. Has a nice finish. It also has a sd card slot.

Hold button and the record button are on the right side. It also has a built in speaker

Xbox 360 is years ahead of PS3 in online features

If you have a Xbox 360 you don’t know how good you have it. Playstation 3 online features are atrocious.

Most of the time their network is down. When its working its dog slow at downloading demos and updates.

Most of the demos are full games which you can unlock by paying a fee. But the problem with that is you have to download a 4 Gb file to try out a game.

The online interface is also bad when you compare it with xbox.

Xbox 360 has big game title images where are as ps3 titles are just small thumbnails. Which become full screen movies when you select them not a idea ui.

Even though you have to pay 3500 Rs annual fee for xbox 360 its worth it compared to the free service offered by the ps3. PS3 also has a payed service which costs 3500 Rs per year. It offers free games and other content.

But after seeing how bad their free service is i am not willing to pay the playstation plus membership.

Xbox 360 offers a 1 month trial which lets you to see what you get with xbox live account.

Normally a system update will update all the features but not with ps3. even after a update you will have to do individual updates for many features.

At the moment xbox online ui and features are at least 5 years ahead of Playstation.

If i buy a next console it will be an xbox not playstation because next consoles will be using online heavily

Just bought an android phone, it out dated already

If you buy any android phone other than nexus series phones which google makes. Your phone will be outdated within 15 days with a new model.

Being outdated with new releases is one thing but being outdated because the software is not up to date is another thing.

For example an os update that was released 5 months back is still not on the top devices like Samsung galaxy S2 (my phone), Galaxy Note, to this day.

Even now most of the devices being released are coming with previous generation os. Most of the devices are not on Android ICS (latest version of android).

Google could implement these rules to rectify the situation.

1. Google should make it mandatory that all new phone sold should be on latest os (exceptions can be made for budget phones below $90-$70)

2. Google should look into customizations being made by the companies and limit it to basic home screen and widget customization. Which in turn will help the companies to implement latest firmwares faster.

3. Give an option to the user to switch to pure android version during initial setup. This should have been done when android was just starting. But they can make this a strick rule from now on.

4. Mandatory support to all devices sold for at least one year, if possible two years with latest firmware.

Manufactures could implement this rule themselves, give user an option to pay $30-$50 extra  and get a pure android version and support for latest firmware for two years.

Manufactures get more money and users can really take advantage of their device.

If you read reports like this you wonder where Google’s loyalty lies. If they want to save android from fragmentation hell hole this is the only way out.

Until then stick to Nexus series, teach manufactures like Samsung, HTC, Motorola and others a lesson or switch to iOS or Windows Mobile.

Lacoste who says concept videos don’t work

Few years back i saw this concept video and was stunned by the futuristic look.

The futuristic look at tennis was really refreshing, they had no product to sell in the ad. But still Lacoste stuck with me as a cool brand that thinks of the future in a futuristic way.

From then on i have been a fan of Lacoste. I couldn’t afford this brands products at the time. But now that i can, i am buying all my stuff from them. All this for a ad they did few years back with no product in it.

This spray costs around 3000 Rs, its different from the regular stuff give it a try.

This is the most different spray i have tested in a few years. costs 3500 Rs 70 ml.

Nice tag line Unconventional Chic

I also like their new Lacoste labs idea, hope many of those products make it to market.

Come on Lacoste when will you launch Lacoste online store in India.

So yes concept videos work, so companies keep doing them.

Go watch Safe House

If you haven’t watched “Safe House” why haven’t you. This is one of the best movies of this year according to me. It even tops “Moneyball“ in my list.

Just 5 minutes into the movie the action & suspense starts and it doesn’t stop till the end credits. Even the ending is so satisfying very rare in movies now a days.

Its about CIA and  CIA rouge agent which you learn from the trailer.

This is what i tweeted during the interval. So just the first half is that good, in the second half it gets even better.

So many twist and turn, such intense action all through the movie. In most movies you have some time where you can relax but not in this. It action, action, action.

Denzel Washington best performance ever for me, better than training day. Same goes of Ryan Reynolds.

If you are fan of action movies do yourself a favor and go watch this movie. It was released on 10th february and its still playing to full houses in India

This is the number 1 action movie of all time for me. It just moved above Spy Games which was my number one so far.

After watching this movie if you come and say its bad. Don’t ever come and read my stuff again, you have no taste…

Don’t drop your apple device

I am big apple fanboy, I have most of their devices, until recently i had no issues with any of them.

But few days back i dropped my iPod Nano and the screen cracked. I really was surprised that the screen was broken. It has taken quite a few knocks without any issues.

So was sad to see it broken, took it to repair hoping i will have to pay 1500 – 2500 Rs to replace the glass.

Guess how much it is?

It will cost me 7500 Rs, they can’t repair the device they will just give me a new one which costs 8500 Rs at 7500 Rs.

It was still under warranty so i thought i would get some kind of benefit. But no luck.

Finally i contacted iRepair and they are asking 3500 Rs. Which is way better than what apple is offering.

So all i am saying is don’t drop your apple device.

First hand report of Nokia Lumia and Samsung Galaxy note

Samsung Galaxy Note : Its huge, i mean very very big. Just visit the nearest UniverCell  store to see how huge this device actually is. It looks more like a 7 inch tablet than a mobile.

Looks weird holding it up to the ear for talking.

But strangely i saw three people with in 10 minutes in a mall using it as their mobile device.

I guess in India we want as big as we get for the money we pay. I still would only get iPhone or the galaxy s2 if you are android.

Nokia Lumia 800 : This phone looks really beautiful. The shape of the design is quite unique among the new phones. Feels very good in hand and has the right size.

Windows mobile make this phone a really unique experience.

If you want something different from ios and android give this phone a try.

PS: if you walk into UniverCell stores you can try these phones out. Love the way i can go and see new device and use them at their store. My next mobile purchase will be at an UniverCell.
